Kabul: At least three policemen were injured in a car bomb explosion in Afghanistan's Faryab province on Monday.
The incident took place in Qaisar district at night, provincial governor Naqibullah Fayiq said.
Fayiq said the Taliban was behind the blast and wanted to target the police headquarters of Qaisar district.
However, the explosive-laden vehicle was stopped before it could reach the target.
The explosion took place in a market and incurred financial losses for the locals, local Tolo News reported quoting police.
Several shops have been damaged by the explosion.
The Taliban is yet to comment on the report.
