Washington DC: The United States has reported more than 100,000 new Covid-19 cases, the biggest one-day spike in its history.
According to reports, the country, presently awaiting the Presidential elections results, recorded over 1,100 deaths on Wednesday.
The total number of infected patients in the country is nearing 10 million. It presently stands at 9,801,355.
The death toll stood at 239,829, according to worldometers.info.
The United States presently has more than 50,000 people in the hospital batting the respiratory disease, an increase of 64% from October.
The US' death and infection tally is the highest in the world.
Meanwhile, 6,292,019 people have recovered so far in the country.
