Dhaka: Bangladesh has been nominated as a member of the Food and Agricultural Organization from the Asia region for three years from 2022.
The country has also been chosen as a member of the credential committee of FAO, according to a press release issued by the agricultural ministry.
The decisions were taken during the 42nd ongoing conference of FAO.
The conference, being held virtually this year due to Covid 19 pandemic, began on June 14, the Daily Star reported.
An eight-member delegation led by Agricultural Minister Mohammad Abdur Razzaque is taking part in the conference on behalf of Bangladesh.
