Joe Biden | Queen Elizabeth London: Queen Elizabeth of Britain would meet US President Joe Biden on June 13 for their first one-to-one interaction, media reports said, citing a Buckingham Palace statement.
Biden and his wife Jill Biden will meet the queen during his upcoming visit to the UK for the G7 Summit.
While this will be Biden's first trip abroad after becoming the president of the United States, the monarch will meet a world leader for the first time after the death of her husband Prince Philip in April and a year of not meeting anyone in-person due to the coronavirus situation.
Both sides have been working for several days to set the meeting, including logistics.
Queen Elizabeth and President Biden have been in touch in the recent months, with the 95-year-old monarch sending a private congratulatory message on his inauguration in January, said a CNN report.
Biden also sent a condolence message to the Queen, the royal family and the UK after the demise of Prince Philip, it added.
