Phnom Penh: Two Chinese nationals have been charged for drug trafficking in Cambodia after a massive drug bust in Phnom Penh recovered 70 kg of narcotics that were headed for Vietnam, media reports said.
Court Clerk Ly Sokha identified the two men as Liu Jic, 40, and Chan Hung Fai, 58, reports Khmer Times.
Sokha told the newspaper they both were charged with “drug possession and trafficking” under Article 40 of Cambodia’s Law on Drug Control and faces a life sentence in prison each if convicted.
He said they were arrested on May 12 after police in the Anti-drug Department of the Ministry of Interior raided their rental condo in Chbar Ampov district’s Niroth commune, in the capital.
