Kabul: At least three ISIS-K terrorists were arrested by Afghanistan security forces from Nangahar province's Behsud district, media reports said on Tuesday.
They were reportedly plotting an attack on Afghanistan forces.
The militants were arrested during an operation conducted on Sunday by special forces of the Afghan Intelligence, National Directorate of Security (NDS).
The provincial government office in Nangarhar was quoted as saying by the state run Khaama Press that the detained individuals have been identified as Qari Abbbas, Abdul Rashid, and Azam Khan, who were planning to carry out attacks on Afghan forces in Kunar province.
Jalalabad horror
Nineteen people, including 17 from the minority Sikh community, were confirmed dead and another 21, including seven Sikhs, were injured as a blast hit the Afghan city on Sunday at around 3:50 pm.
The blast reportedly targeted a vehicle carrying passengers from the minority community.
As per Pajhwok Afghan News agency report, Daesh also known as the Islamic State (IS), claimed responsibility for the deadly bombing in Jalalabad.
The blast attracted widespread condemnation from across the world.
