Kabul: At least 22 policemen have been killed in clashes between militants affiliated with the Taliban group and Afghanistan's security forces in the country's Ghazni province, reports said.
The ongoing clashes started late on Tuesday night in the province's Zana Khan and Jaghato districts.
Confirming the reports, local officials have said that along with the deceased, five soldiers have sustained injuries.
According to provincial council member Hussain Reza Yousuf, 13 security forces were killed in Zana Khan and nine police were killed in Jaghato districts of the province.
It comes a day after 2000 Taliban insurgents attacked Farah province, in order to take control of it.
Over 300 people, including insurgents, security forces and civilians, have died on Tuesday's clashes.
