Kabul: The Afghan Defence Ministry said on Wednesday that at least 26 militants affiliated to the Taliban terrorist group have been gunned down in various parts of the country in the last 24 hours.
The operations consisted of land and airstrikes.
Mohammad Radmanish, the ministry’s spokesman said that among the 26 killed, 12 Taliban were killed in Khak-e-Safed and Balablok districts of Farah province.
Six others were gunned down in Trinkot district of Uruzgan province, while four were killed in Greshk district of Helmand province.
Additionally, three were killed in Faryab province and one in Ghazni province.
The ministry spokesperson further added that at least 20 militants were wounded and 19 others, including 17 suspects, were nabbed by security officials.
The Taliban has not commented on the report so far.
