Two more new polio cases have emerged in Pakistan, escalating the health emergency in the country and forcing people to be more alert about vaccinating their children against the disease.
According to the Regional Reference Laboratory at the National Institute of Health, a female child from Zhob district of Balochistan and a male child from Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been affected, taking the total number of polio cases this year to 28 in the country, reported Dawn News.
This is the second case reported from Zhob.
Another child was infected by the virus in the region earlier in July.
However, this was the first case of polio infection from Tank.
