Colombo: The Sri Lankan government has lifted the mask mandate which was imposed for outdoor and indoor spaces.
Country's Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella confirmed the development on Twitter.
He tweeted: "Effective immediately the req to wear a mask is no longer mandatory for indoor & outdoor spaces in #lka. Those suffering from respiratory conditions are encouraged to wear masks & be socially responsible. This was a collective decision by all medical colleges & @MoH_SriLanka."
Sri Lanka attempted to lift face mask mandate in mid-April subject to conditions, but it was reversed due to large public gatherings taking place in the country at that time.
